I Can See The End as It Begins ....

Does the desire for romance ever die? For those spontaneous stolen kisses that make your feet levitate off the ground?

Should we ever be allowed to give up on love? For the thousands of words spoken sitting in the silence of your lover while exchanging soft glances?

Should we ever give up on the desire that as we grow older to spend forever with someone?

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of my friends Mimi and Peter, who met later in life and fell deeply in love. Theirs is a slow burn kind of love, the kind that takes it time to grow, intertwines it's way through all the facades, getting down to the nitty gritty details, stapling itself permanently to the core of their hearts. The slow burn kind of love see's the storms as rain watering the seeds planted deep into the ground, establishing it's roots before the sprout.

I know how it feels to say "Forget it, I give up ... " or the temptation to grasp onto anything that gives you instant romance without safety or security. The times where doubt clouts your mind and you wonder "Will it ever happen to me?"....

Then, I attend the wedding of some pretty amazing people, glowing, who love each other unconditionally, deeply and who never gave up.... you start hoping again, look across the room for any eligible bachelor's that just might be "the one" for you, only to find ... NO ONE.

Ugh!

"Why? Forget ... should I hope for that someday? Will I always be the wedding attendee and never the bride?" Geeze!

At the end of the day, your forced to stand in line for the bouquet - "Whatever for?" you tell yourself, there is no one in sight, I feel like a stupid desperate fool, I am over 45, how many of these bouquet tosses do I need to do? I'm gonna find a place to hide...."

And of course, your friends find you and escort you over, forcing you to ... more ughs!

You find a little corner to stand in to mind your own business when .... the bouquet hits you on the head and lands on your feet, in that tiny little corner you were standing in that leaves no room for others to try to grab it.

You look up to God and say "Ok, you think you're funny don't ya?"... the crowd cheers "Pick it up, pick it up!" and you do, wondering what this all means and "hope" slow burning itself into your mind again.

And at that very moment, your able "See the end before it begins ..."

Fun video I made highlighting the day!
